If you scroll through TikTok videos you’ll notice that from all the great posts, the ones that tend to appear on the Homepage and For You page have five elements in common.
In this lesson, we’re going to cover each one of those elements that really make your posts stand out. By the end of this lesson, you will know how to use them and make them work no matter the industry your business is in.
I’ll give you a brief overview of all the five elements and the next lessons we’ll dive deep into each and every single one of them.
The first and most important element is the Video and the actual content that goes into the video. This includes the Challenges and Trends and we will cover them in a dedicated lesson.
Number two is Sound. The sound is very, very important and this could be a song or any music that you take from TikTok. It could also be your original sound, something you record. For example, it can be your voice explaining some strategies or just a background song. You can even record your own sound that other people can use in their videos. Or you can import sounds or music from outside TikTok. We will cover all these options in a separate lesson.
The third element of a great post is Effects. Most of the trends and one of the easiest ways to grow your TikTok account is to create videos using effects that are currently popular on the platform. We will cover effects in detail, but for example, an effect could be an overlay on the camera or some sort of facial recognition. TikTok is adding constantly new effects and they highlight the new trends and it’s an easy way to create videos that can become popular fast.
Next element that we will cover is Actions and Titles.
Titles are important because it’s just simple text that you can use as an overlay text for your videos to offer more details, to raise the anticipation, or to make it easier for your international followers to follow your video. You can add some additional valuable information that’s not easily taken out of the context.
And now, the final element of a great post is Description and Hashtags.
Hashtags on TikTok are a little different than a hashtag on Instagram. The descriptions tend to be much shorter than on other social media platforms, and we tend to use much fewer hashtags on TikTok than we do on Instagram, for example.
But in the next couple of lessons, we’re going to go dive deeper into all of these elements individually.
So to summarize, the five most important elements for a great TikTok video are obviously the video, the sounds that you use in the video, the effects, titles, and finally, the hashtags and description.
In the next lessons, we’ll cover each one of those and explain how to use them to your advantage and how to create popular videos that will deliver either business results or personal branding results or grow your account.
