In this lesson, we’ll take a look at titles and how you can use them in your videos. They are a great way to add value to your video.
Titles are simple pieces of text you can add to your video and can be used as subtitles. It is a great way to increase the watch time for your video and help it go more viral. For example, in non-English speaking countries, your content will be delivered to the region, to the country where your SIM card is located.
But if the video is really good, it will get distribution in other countries as well. So, if you add English titles, more people can follow along and understand the message of your video.
You don’t need to add the script of the entire video, you can just add bullet points, or the highlights of the video and it will help the user follow along and see what you’re doing.
You can also use this as an overall title for your video, that will help set the scene and explain what is about to happen.
To add titles to your video you need to follow these steps:
- After recording your video, click on the red checkmark to start editing your video
- At the bottom you will see the “Text” icon. Click on it
- This will let you add and format small pieces of text – “titles”
- You can change the color of the text, add a background color to make it more visible, or you can use your fingers to make it smaller or bigger

One thing to remember, you shouldn’t put it too close on the bottom or the top because it will be covered by other text when you post your video.
On the bottom, it will be the name of the author and the song you are using. And on the top, you have the Following and For You buttons. So, make sure you put your text somewhere where it will be visible, add value but not interfere with the video.
